Natural History Museum
We went to the Natural History Museum on Saturday. First we went to the 'Earth from the air' outdoor exhibition which is just outside the museum. The exhibition consists of many huge prints of beautiful views of the land, taken from a helicopter, in various locations. There is also a serious message regarding our use and abuse of resources. If it comes to your town definately check it out.

After looking at the exhibition we went into the museum and enjoyed browsing through the displays and being in the beautifully restored building. There were moving dinosaurs, huge globes and stuffed animals galore!

New flat
We're all moved in to our new flat now. We've found spots for everything but it doesn't feel like home yet. I guess it takes a little while to make a place your own. We've made a start by putting some pictures up including a poster of one of our favourite photos from the 'Earth from the air' exhibition. This goes perfectly in our bedroom.

We'll take some pics of our new digs for the photo gallery when we get back from Spain.

My Dad is a TV STAR!
Around lunchtime on Sunday Joseph was watching telly and called out to me "Your Dad's on the TV!". I rushed into the lounge and sure enough there was Charles in full Chinese garb acting as a Confuscious style Grandfather on a TV series called 'Revelations'. Luckily Steve had a video tape near by and we caught most of the programme with some choice acting by Dad included! I don't think this programme was bought by any of the local Kiwi TV stations so it was so lucky that we caught the very episode that Dad was in whilst the show was on over here. Fantastic!

The story....
This series centres around a young lad who travels around, and I think travels through time, and helps out people in need. A bit like Sam in Quantum Leap. It's a children's programme. As I mentioned Dad, the grandfather, and his grandson were in some small American town. They weren't treated well by the locals and some bullys threaten them by demanding 'security' payments. Dad/Grandfather refuses to pay and places his trust in fate and justice. To cut a long story short the baddies light fire to Dad's shop/home with the goodies inside. But, the main baddie gets caught inside the firey inferno as well. Dad comes along and saves the goodies and then goes back into the inferno (well maybe I'm exaggerating a little) and saves the baddie. So the baddie changes his ways and re builds Dad's shop for him. The End!

Well done Dad. We're so proud of you!

I had my first "Star spot" a couple of weekends ago. I was having lunch with Jo (Granville) and Stephen Merchant was sitting at a table next to us. "Who is he?" you ask. Well he worked with Ricky Gervais on the creation and writing of The Office series. I can tell you're not impressed!

Last Monday we caught up with Audrey and Michael. They are going to NZ to settle and enjoy the refreshing Kiwi lifestyle.

Our friend Luke is also going back home. We met up with him on Saturday and checked out a jazz band at the famous Jazz Cafe in Camden. The venue was great and the band had many fans. They were celebrating their 25th anniversary. Maybe that's why we didn't enjoy them as much as the other (and older) punters did.

This week I'm full of anticipation regarding our upcoming move. We are only moving down the road but it still seems like a big deal to me. I guess it's more what it signifies rather than the actual activity of moving. It means we gain responsibilities..... and bills! But the positives out weigh the negatives. We'll have a lovely place we can call our own.

I hope the Kiwi cricket team keep their good form for their tour over here. We have tickets to the test at Lords in May. I'm not sure if I'll be joining the "Beige brigade" though. You can buy the 70s style uniform to advertise your support. It's the Kiwi version of the "Balmy army" although I don't think they sing as well. Swing low.....

Soho house
OK, so we didn’t see any celebs, but we did go to the place were celebs hang out. It’s called Soho House and is a members only club for the media and entertainment industry. We had a couple of drinks there because Tash and Ben’s film club use the venue for meetings.

New flat
We signed the tenancy agreement for our new flat on Wednesday. We’ll be moving in on the 28th of this month. Fantastic.

El Greco
On Saturday we went to the El Greco art exhibition at the National Gallery in Trafalger Square. Paulette and Reinhold shouted us tickets as Joseph helped them out with some email problems. El Greco (the Greek) was actually called Domenikos Theotokopoulos (1541 – 1614). He was born in Crete and went on to live and work in Venice, Rome and finally Toledo, in Spain. His work was very progressive and inspired many 20th century artists such as Picasso and Pollock. It’s great to go to an exhibition that focuses on one influential artist as you get an understanding of their development through out their career.

Starsky and Hutch
At the other end of the spectrum we went to the movie Starsky and Hutch in the afternoon. The pairing of Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson was good value, as always.

Flat hunting
The hunt is over! We have found a lovely one bedroom flat in Kilburn and will move in towards the end of the month. It belongs to a Brit couple who are going away on their OE. It is very homely and has a sofa bed in the lounge for anyone coming our way (o:

Groove Armada
We went to see Groove Armada at a club called Neighbourhood on Friday night. It was fantastic. We enjoy their music so were keen to see them live. When Joseph and I were entering the joint Groove Armada were escorted past us and into the club. Joseph said "That's them!" and I got all excited. They seemed very normal and cool and played an awesome set. We boogied the night away.

We may sight some more celebs tonight. More on that soon....
